This works,
as from the title, documents the abandonnement of canvas painting. The creation
of the Filo that followed and the final detachment of color from the
surface has permitted to the
matter/color to claim back its acrylic “plasticity” and later to reinvent its
own art history.
The Filo
makes its first official appearance in 1977 creating a BRIDGING STATEMENT
between art/artist and public.
“Nel Frattempo” – Text/interview by Ida Panicelli from the catalogue of the show/Artist in Presence FIL-OSO-FO’-FIL – Turin 1983
The Filo never was bought and sold. I always donated it, disperse it and symbolically exchanged it. The Filo is not a thing that one can sell, if any one can tie it to a site or a memory, or disperse it secretly, or to be depicted, to be quoted on other objects, to be melt, sculpted, photographed, embroidered, or used in a peformance….

Giovanni, my fefteen years old son with down syndrome and I, have worked together for four months on this project
TREMONDI + UNO
Every day a sign and every month a primary color background concluding with the white one symbolic of the primariness of our bond. On this “worlds” we have crossed our hands, our ideas, our fantasies, our fears thus in a tangible way…our lives.
